Education
How does your institution serve the goals of educating other museum professionals and/or the community?
Boston Children's Museum conducts a variety of educational programs in the community. The Museum offers training and curriculum resources for afterschool educators. It also conducts professional development programs for preschool through middle school teachers on a variety of topics. Museum staff members regularly present at local, regional and national conferences; these are important educational opportunities for other museum professionals. Currently, Boston Children's Museum is working with the Chicago Children's Museum on an IMLS 21st Century Museum Professional grant-funded curriculum and training modules for visitor services and education staff; once completed, these will be disseminated nationally.
